What Photos Are Needed for an EV Charger Quote?
The photos that let an installer assess a home EV charger installation accurately before visiting.
Photos are the fastest way to a meaningful quote. The most useful ones are: your main switchboard, the electricity meter area, the wall where the charger would go, where the car parks, and the likely cable route between the board and the charger.
If your home has rooftop solar, add a photo of the inverter. If you've already bought a charger, photograph the model label or the box so the exact unit can be identified.
Take them in daylight, stand back far enough to show context, and include a second closer shot where detail matters — like the switchboard labels or the charger's model plate.
Never open switchboard panels, remove covers or touch wiring to get a better photo. An external shot with the door open, if it opens safely, is all that's needed.
Where professional help is needed: Photos support an initial assessment only; some properties will still require an on-site inspection before a final price. This guide is general information only and is not a substitute for a site-specific electrical assessment.
